Stages
Single Stage
- DESIGN: Small pancake style, portable compressors and smaller stationary compressors
- SIZE: ½ – 5 Horsepower
- ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS: Single Phase or Gas
- DETAILS:
• Same size cylinders make compression less efficient
• Comparatively loud vs. two-stage compressors
Two Stage
- DESIGN: Most common type, two cylinders joined by a cooling tube that cools air before air is compressed a second time
- SIZE: 5 – 20 Horsepower
- ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS: Single Phase or 3 Phase
- DETAILS:
• Allows higher pressure (PSI) and increases efficiency
• Fueling a longer lifespan and quieter operation
Brands and Models
Brand: FS Curtis
CA Model
- Splash lubricated high end pump.
- Piston connecting rods grab oil on the down stroke to lubricate the interior of the pump.
- Typical lifespan of CA compressors is 12-25 years if properly maintained.
ML Model
- Centro-Ring technology does not use an oil pump, resulting in no transmission or energy loss.
- Uses a highly machined disc that rides on the crankshaft, pulling lubricant with every revolution and delivering to key points.
- Typical lifespan on ML compressors is around 50 years.
Ultra Packs
- UltraPacks are an option included with the CA and ML models.
- Includes an Air cooled Aftercooler, Low oil level shutdown (NEMA 1), Automatic Tank drain, Tank Vibration pads, and an additional Ultrasheild 5 year warranty.
Gas Model
- Great for Work Trucks and places where electric is not available 30 or 60 Gallon Tank options
- Includes 12V D.C. Starter and Alternator along with an Engine Idle control.
